1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Calculate My Dowry (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Nature of the experience

The Site is a work of satire and interactive commentary. It is designed to resemble a valuation tool in order to critique and dismantle the idea that a person can be priced. No figure, calculation, certificate, or statistic generated by the Site reflects a real, legal, or financial valuation of any person. Nothing on the Site should be interpreted as an endorsement, facilitation, or instruction for the practice of dowry, which is illegal in India.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict the use and enjoyment of the Site by, any third party. You agree not to misuse any part of the Site, including attempting to access it in ways not intended by its design, or using it to harass, defame, or harm any individual.

4. Intellectual property

All original content on the Site — including its design, copy, interactive experience, and generated certificate artwork — is the property of Calculate My Dowry unless otherwise noted. You may share screenshots or the downloadable certificate for personal, non-commercial, and non-misleading purposes, such as raising awareness. You may not present any part of the Site as your own work or use it to imply an endorsement that does not exist.

5. No warranty

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Any statistics displayed on the Site are aggregate, anonymized, and provided for illustrative purposes only.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Calculate My Dowry and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site.

7. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party resources, such as government or non-profit organizations. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those third-party sites.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
