Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains what information Calculate My Dowry collects when you use the site, why, and what we do not do with it. We built this experience to make a point about reducing people to numbers — so we’ve tried to be correspondingly careful about not collecting more information about you than we need to.

Information we collect

When you complete the interactive experience, we may record an anonymous, aggregate record of that completion: the point values associated with the options you selected, and the resulting on-screen figure. This record is not linked to your name, email address, IP address, or any other identifier.

If you personalize a downloadable certificate with a name, that name is used only in your browser to render the image you download. It is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

We also log anonymous counts when a certificate is downloaded or when the built-in share action is used — again, as bare counts, with no personal or device identifiers attached.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand overall traffic patterns — for example, which pages are visited and roughly how many people complete the experience. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect standard technical information such as browser type, device type, and approximate location at a city or region level. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using Google’s official browser opt-out add-on, or by using your browser’s tracking-prevention or cookie-blocking settings.

How we use information

The anonymous, aggregate data described above is used solely to display overall usage statistics (for example, on our public impact page) and to understand how the experience is used, so we can improve it. It is never used to profile, contact, or identify any individual.

Data retention

Because the data we retain is anonymous and aggregate rather than tied to an individual, there is no personal record to delete on request. We periodically review stored data and may remove or aggregate older records further as part of routine maintenance.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the site or applicable law. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
